NEW AND IMPROVED mark-my-time™ DIGITAL BOOKMARK GETS NOD FROM THE MOM’S CHOICE AWARDS®

Named among the best in family-friendly media, products and services

CHANDLER HEIGHTS, AZ - The mark-my-time™ digital bookmark, which has helped thousands of students accurately monitor their required reading times over the years, has received recognition from The Mom’s Choice Awards® (MCA) as being among the best in family-friendly media, products and services.

The awards program recognizes authors, inventors, companies, parents and others for their efforts in creating quality products with a true family focus. Parents, educators, librairians and retailers rely on MCA evaluations when selecting materials for children and families.

MCA judges include education, media and other experts, as well as parents, children, librarians, performing artists, producers, medical and business professionals, researchers and others. A sampling of panel members include Dr. Twila C. Liggett, 10-time Emmy winner, professor and founder of PBS’s Reading Rainbow; Julie Aigner- Clark, creator of Baby Einstein and The Safe Side Project; Priscilla Dunstan, creator of the Dunstan Baby Language; and Catherine Witcher, M.Ed., special needs expert and founder of Precision Education, Inc.

To be considered for an award, each entrant submits five identical product samples. Entries are then matched to judges in the MCA database. These judges score entries on a variety of lements, including production quality, design, educational value, entertainment value, originality, appeal and cost.

The mark-my-time™ digital bookmark is designed to help monitor required reading time with its combination countdown and cumulative timer functions. In 2009, the award-winning product was updated to also aid in fluency testing with the addition of a special 60-second countdown timer. With this addition, students, as well as their teachers and parents, can not only tell how long they’ve been reading, but also how quickly.

New colors were also added to the product line in 2009, so now readers can choose from red, yellow, fuchsia, neon green, blue or purple. Besides serving as a useful tool during reading sessions, the mark-my-time digital bookmark is ideal for timing music practice sessions, timed math fact activities and homework study sessions.

In addition to the MCA seal, the mark-my-time digital bookmark has received the National Parenting Center Seal of Approval, as well as the Mr. Dad Seal of Approval. It has also been named Creative Child Kids’ Product of the Year and has won The Family Review Center gold award and the Fat Brain Toy Award in the category of teaching toys and tools.

Ideal for children five years and older, the mark-my-time digital bookmark is available nationwide at leading bookstores, discount drug chains and wholesale clubs at an average retail price of $8.95.

“This has been such a helpful tool for her because she used to stop reading, pull herself out of the story, just to come and ask me how much longer she had to read, every five minutes! Now she doesn’t need to. This has been an extremely helpful tool in her schooling. I recommend it to everyone and it would make a great stocking stuffer for all the kids on your list!”
