How To Use | Digital Metronome

First Time Use/Set Up

First, you will need to install the two button watch batteries that are included in your packaging. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the bookmark head and open it by sliding the cover in the direction of the raised arrow. Insert both LR44 batteries in the compartments with the print facing you. They will be a tight fit. Then replace the battery cover by sliding it back into place. You will hear a loud tone and the display will show the time of day.


Clock MODE

To set the time of day on the digital clock you will need to depress the mode button and hold it until the display begins to flash. Now press the HOURS button until the correct hour and corresponding am or pm is visible in the right upper corner. Now press the MINUTES button until the desired minute is displayed. Finally, press the mode button and the clock will now be set.


Count Up or Cumulative Practice Time Mode

To operate the count-up or cumulative time feature press the mode button until the upward pointing arrow appears in the right side of your LCD display. Now press the orange start/stop button to begin the timing feature. Your display will switch to a seconds display for the first minute and will show the letters SE, a blinking time colon and then the number showing an increasing seconds count. After one minute has accrued, the display will switch to numbers only and measure in one minute increments. Once switching to one minute increments, the time colon will blink to indicate the timing session is active. You may pause or stop your current timing session by pressing the orange start/stop button. The time colon will stop flashing to indicate that the timer has been stopped. You may restart and continue your count-up session by pressing the orange start/stop button to re-start the timer. You can store a total of 99 hours and 59 minutes on this bookmark. To clear the stored time on your count up timer and start over at zero simply make sure the timing feature is off as indicated by the time colon not blinking. Then depress the minutes and hours buttons at the same time to reset to zero.


Countdown Mode

To operate the countdown session timer with alarm press the mode button until the downward pointing arrow appears in the right side of your LCD display. The timer must be off as indicated by the time colon not blinking to set your countdown session time. Press the MINUTES button and hours button to set the total amount of time you would like the session to last. Just reset the timer to zero by pressing the hours and minutes button together to reset to zero and start over. Once the time is set, begin the countdown by pressing the orange start/stop button. The time colon will begin to blink indicating your timing session has started. You may choose to pause the countdown timer by pressing the orange start/stop button at any time. When the countdown time remaining reaches one minute, the display will switch from one minute increments and show the seconds remaining. The display will show SE, a blinking time colon and the number showing a decreasing seconds count. At the end of one minute, the display will read zero and begin to flash and an audible beep will sound for 30 seconds. If your booklight is on, when the alarm stops sounding the light will automatically turn off.


Metronome Mode

To use the audible/visual metronome, press the mode button until a quarter note is displayed on the left side of the display and a number is in the right of the display. Use the up and down arrows to change the tempo up or down to the desired speed. The tempo range available is 40 to 210 beats per minute. Press the green start/stop button to turn on the digital metronome. It will give an audible beat as well as a visual flashing quarter note. This metronome feature will remain operating in the background as you change to the different timing modes for your practice session.

While in metronome mode you can set a beat pattern from 0-4 to 4-4 by pressing and holding the mode button until the display changes to show either 0-4, 1-4, 2-4, 3-4 or 4-4. 0-4 beat pattern is visual only. Using the up or down arrows you can change the pattern to the desired beat and then press the mode button briefly to set this feature. Returning to the metronome mode you will than hear your beat pattern repeated in the tempo.

To use the audible A440 tuning note, press your mode button until the display shows A440 then press the green start/stop button. The note will continue to sound until you press the green start/stop button to turn it off.
